Diz-se que o grande pintor grego Apeles, certo dia pediu a um sapateiro que o ajudasse a retocar uns chinelos numa das suas pinturas.
Logo após aquele aperfeiçoamento, o sapateiro começou a opinar sobre o resto. «As cores deviam ser mais vivas, os contornos mais carregados».
Apeles replicou: «alto lá! Não vá o sapateiro além dos chinelos!»
O meu pai tinha inúmeras aplicações para esta estória
